The three most important documents a free society gives are a birth certificate, a passport, and a library card.” -E.L. Doctorow

Giving to our community and building within our community is often overlooked, but brings so much joy. 35 years in the making and San Diego has begun building a new central library. 9 stories, located in East Village to include a school, auditorium, galleries and in all encompass a place for the arts. Supporting literacy and creating a commitment to SD’s future, is big. Solar energy panels on the roof will be converted to useable energy and saving the planet that much more. A place long overdue, the magnitude of this library will hopefully bring attention to the importance of literacy and community development.

San Diego’s largest  annual bike swap meet.

Riders,  support your community. All proceeds from this event go towards running SD’s Velodrome - a NON-PROFIT organization that promotes the sport and recreation of  cycling.

It’s not supposed to, but it can change your perception. Be apart of the global art project.

TED’s is an international convention held every year by invitation only to help expose your everyday persons ideas that are worth spreading. Investors are the majority of attendee’s, as if they see something fitting and will turn around and help fund the idea. Watching any of the videos leaves you inspired and motivated. http://www.ted.com/

Out of the hundreds of speakers and innovators every year, one will be chosen to win the TED prize. Where a wish you have is granted…to change the world. This years winner was JR. His story is short but his message is strong.  His wish:

“I wish for you to stand up for what you care about by participating in a global art project, and together we’ll  turn the world….inside out.”

This global art project is free and has already created an amazing impact. Take a photo and upload it to the website. JR will print this photo, send it to you to post…anywhere. The movement and creativity of this is unbelievable. Be a part of the movement, speak for yourself and stand up.
